# Groups

### What are Product Groups

Product groups allow you to perform actions on all the items in a group. For example, you could create a group of products called "Christmas Specials" and apply a discount to all these products with a single click.

You can also create a new group of products and link them to a specific coupon/voucher code.

There are two different types of Product groups:

* **Fixed Groups** - These are the groups that you create yourself. These groups contain the products you select.
* **Dynamic Groups** - We create these groups depending on the current settings of the products in your control panel and any that you add. These groups are: 
  * **All Products**
  * **All Hidden Products**
  * **All Locked Products**
  * **All Products on Offer**
  * **All Products in Stock**
  * **All Products out of Stock**

### How to Create a Fixed Product Group

1. Log into your Freewebstore Control Panel.
2. Go to **Manage** > **Products** > **Groups**.
3. Click **Add New Group**.
4. Enter the *Group Name*.
5. Search for products by using the search bar, or use the **Choose from Category** button to add products to the group.
6. Click **Save**.

### How to Perform an Action on a Product Group

1. Log into your Freewebstore Control Panel.
2. Go to **Manage** > **Products** > **Groups**.
3. Click **Action** for a group in the list or click one of the **Dynamic groups** in the panel at the top of the page.
4. Choose an action from the list.
5. Configure the changes you would like to make to all products in the group.
6. Click **Apply.**
7. Click **Save**.

### How to Delete a Product Group

1. Log into your Freewebstore Control Panel.
2. Go to **Manage** > **Products** > **Groups**.
3. Click the *red* **\[x]** icon next to each group you want to delete.
4. Click **Save**.

### Editing Groups on the Product Edit Page

You can edit the groups your product is a member of by navigating to the product edit page and selecting the **Groups** tab.

####  Adding and Removing your Product from a Group *(Desktop)*

To add and remove your product from a group:

1. Navigate to the product edit page of the product you wish to edit.
2. Select the **Groups** tab.
3. Simply drag and drop a group from your **Available Groups** to the **Member of Groups** list to **add** your product to the group you are moving.

OR

3. Simply drag and drop a group from your **Member of Groups** to the **Available Groups** list to **remove** your product from the group you are moving.

#### Adding and Removing your Product from a Group *(Mobile)*

To add and remove your product from a group:

1. Navigate to the product edit page of the product you wish to edit.
2. Select the **Groups** tab.
3. Simply click the **'+'** icon next to the group in your **Available Groups** to **add** it to the **Member of Groups** list.

OR

3. Simply click the **'-'** icon next to the group in your **Member of Groups** to **remove** it from the **Available Groups** list.
