Free Tax
A simple step-by-step guide detailing how to add a Free Tax promotion to your store from within your Freewebstore Control Panel.
This guide walks you through setting up the Free Tax promotion on your store.
First things first, you will need to click the Free Tax tile as shown below.
Step 1: The Trigger
What condition triggers your promotion?
You are presented with a choice. You can choose either:
Products Bought - This means the promotion you are creating will be triggered when your customer has purchased a set amount of eligible products.
Cost Of Order - This means the promotion will be triggered when your customer has spent over a specified total on eligible products.
Click one of the tiles to make your selection and move on to the next step.
Step 2: Set the threshold
What is the quantity/cost you want to trigger the promotion?
This step will differ slightly depending on the trigger you selected in the previous step. All you need to do here is specify the quantity of items/cost your customer needs to buy/spend on eligible products to trigger the promotion.
Simply enter a number into the text box provided to complete the sentence.
Click Next to continue.
Step 3: Choosing eligible products
Which products do you want to include in this promotion?
This step is arguably the most important. If you want to include all of your products in the promotion, simply leave the All Products checkbox checked and click Next.
You can add as many or as little as you like and if there are any products you would like to exclude from these groups, you can do so at a later stage.
Click Next to continue.
Step 4: Promotion start and end dates
When will this promotion start/end?
This step allows you to configure when the promotion starts and ends. If you want the promotion to start immediately and run continuously until you disable it, you can simply leave the checkboxes checked as they are below and click Next to continue to the next step.
However, if you would like to configure a start date in the future, you would like to set a date for the promotion to end or both, check the alternative checkboxes to display the date selectors.
When you are happy with the dates selected, click Next to continue.
Step 5: Exclusions
Which products from the groups of products you have chosen would you like to exclude, if any at all?
This step prompts you to specify any products already selected that you would like to exclude. We allow a total of 10 exclusions. If you require any more than this, we recommend that you revise the groups of products that you are including and maybe think about creating a separate group using the Manage > Groups section of your control panel.
If you don't want to exclude any products from your promotion, leave the No checkbox checked and click Next to continue.
If you do, check Yes and use the text box provided to search for any products you wish to exclude.
Click Next to continue when you have finished.
Summary - The Final Step
At this point, we have gathered all of the information we will need to create the promotion.
At the top of the wizard pop-up, you will notice a final text box where we will require the name of your offer. The name could be absolutely anything.
This name will be displayed on your store, so please ensure it is clean and is descriptive of the offer you have created.
Review the information shown to ensure everything is correct. If there is anything you have changed your mind on, you can use the back arrow button which will be displayed near the close button in the top right-hand corner of the pop-up as shown below.
Click Save & Finish to save the promotion and complete the set-up wizard.
Remember: Any promotions created will be displayed on your store and applied automatically during the checkout process when applicable.
