This guide walks you through setting up the Cheapest Free promotion on your store.
First things first, you will need to click the Cheapest Free tile as shown below.
This step configures how many eligible products your customers have to purchase in order for the promotion to be triggered, and how many of those products they get for free.
The free items will always be the cheapest items
You can add as many or as few rules as you like, simply complete the sentence shown by inputting values in the text boxes provided.
The rule seen above will deduct the cost of the cheapest of the 3 eligible items off the total cost of the order, or the cheapest 2 items if 6 eligible items are bought and so on.
If you want this to change, say, after the customer has bought 10 eligible items, you want your customer to receive 5 of the cheapest free, you can do so by clicking + Add Another. This will add an empty rule to your view which you can configure as you wish.
Whilst configuring your rules as above, a slider will appear below so you can test these rules by moving a Products Bought slider to view how many eligible products your customers will get for free.

Which products do you want to include in this promotion?
This step is arguably the most important. If you want to include all of your products in the promotion, simply leave the All Products checkbox checked and click Next.
You can add as many or as little as you like and if there are any products you would like to exclude from these groups, you can do so at a later stage.
Click Next to continue
When will this promotion start/end?
This step allows you to configure when the promotion starts and ends. If you want the promotion to start immediately and run continuously until you disable it, you can simply leave the checkboxes checked as they are below and click Next to continue to the next step.
However, if you would like to configure a start date in the future, you would like to set a date for the promotion to end or both, check the alternative checkboxes to display the date selectors.
Which products from the groups of products you have chosen would you like to exclude, if any at all?
This step prompts you to specify any products already selected that you would like to exclude. We allow a total of 10 exclusions. If you require any more than this, we recommend that you revise the groups of products that you are including and maybe think about creating a separate group using the Manage > Groups section of your control panel.
If you don't want to exclude any products from your promotion, leave the No checkbox checked and click Next to continue.
If you do, check Yes and use the text box provided to search for any products you wish to exclude.
Click Next to continue when you have finished.
At this point, we have gathered all of the information we will need to create the promotion.
At the top of the wizard pop-up, you will notice a final text box where we will require the name of your offer. The name could be absolutely anything.
This name will be displayed on your store, so please ensure it is clean and is descriptive of the offer you have created.
Review the information shown to ensure everything is correct. If there is anything you have changed your mind on, you can use the back arrow button which will be displayed near the close button in the top right-hand corner of the pop-up as shown below.
Click Save & Finish to save the promotion and complete the set-up wizard.
Remember: Any promotions created will be displayed on your store and applied automatically during the checkout process when applicable.
However, if you only want to include a selection of your products, check the Let Me Pick checkbox. You will then see a list of types of selection where by clicking the icon, you can browse through to select the groups of products you would like to add.
