# Currency

How to set or change your store currency, and how currency works on the new design system.

Your store has one currency. Your prices are set in it, and your customers always pay in it.

On the new design system there is no currency converter for shoppers. Your store shows every price in your store currency, and customers can't switch to another currency to see converted prices.

### Change your store currency

You can change the currency your store trades in from the **Website Theme** editor.

1. Log in to your Freewebstore Control Panel.
2. Go to **Design > Website Theme**.
3. Click **Store** on the left, then **Localisation**.
4. Under **Store Currency**, choose your new currency from the **Currency** list.
5. Click **Save** at the top of the screen.

Changing your store currency does **not** convert your existing prices. A product priced at 10.00 stays at 10.00 in the new currency, so you'll need to update your prices yourself.

Changing **Country** in the same panel also fills in the usual currency for that country. Check the **Currency** list before you click **Save**.

### Selling in more than one currency

A store can only take payment in one currency, whichever plan you're on. If you want to sell in several currencies, the best way is to open a separate store for each currency.

### Older designs

Some older designs include a currency converter. It lets customers see your prices converted into their own currency, but they still pay in your store currency. To turn it on or off:

1. Go to **Design > Theme Editor**.
2. Hover over the currency selector in your store preview and click **Edit**.
3. Choose **Enable Currency Converter** or **Disable Currency Converter**.
4. Click **Save**.

If your design doesn't have a currency selector, the converter isn't available on that design.
