Adding a Link to a Page

A step-by-step guide detailing how to add a link to a page of your free online store from within your Freewebstore Control Panel.

Adding a link to your page can add a path for your customers to view other useful pages either within your free online store or to another page outside of your store.

To add a link to a page:

  1. Login to your Freewebstore Control Panel.

  2. Go to Manage > Pages.

  3. Click on the page you wish to add a link to.

  4. If you are able to add a link to this page, a text editor will appear. Highlight the text you wish to add a clickable link to.

  5. Click the Insert at the top of the text editor.

  6. Click the Link option in the dropdown menu.

  7. A new window will appear. Here, you will need to add the URL of the page you wish to link to. You will also see the text you highlighted in the Text to Display field (feel free to edit this if you need to). Add a Title to the link, this needs to be something simple that tells the computer roughly where the link leads to. For example, you are adding a link to your YouTube channel, your title would be something along the lines of View [your store name here]'s Youtube videos. You can also choose whether you would like the link to open in a new tab on your customer's device or use the same one.

  8. Once you are happy with what you have entered, click Save.

  9. Save.

  10. Go and see if it works, if not, you will need to go back and make sure what you have entered is correct.

To add a link to your navbar or to your Additional Pages section:

  1. Login to your Freewebstore Control Panel.

  2. Go to Manage > Pages.

  3. Click + Add New Page.

  4. Select the Add Link option.

  5. You will now be faced with a page that will allow you to give the Link a name (what will display in your navbar), add the URL, and choose the Target Window.

  6. In the Settings Panel to the right, you can select which section you would like to add it to. Selecting the Navigation/Menu will place your link in the navbar, selecting Additional Pages will add the link to where your additional pages are displayed on your store, selecting Hidden pages will hide your link until you move it to one of the previously mentioned sections.

  7. When you are happy, click Save.
