# Favicon

A step-by-step guide detailing how to upload and change the Favicon image of your online store from within your Freewebstore Control Panel.

### What is a Favicon?

A Favicon is a small image that typically appears in the address bar or tab bar of your browser. It can also appear in your browser history and bookmarks.

### How to change your Favicon

1. Log in to your Freewebstore Control Panel.
2. Go to **Design > Favicon**. Your current favicon is shown under **Current**.
3. Under **Upload Favicon**, drag your image onto the upload box, or click the box to choose a file.
4. Your favicon uploads and saves straight away. There's no Save button to press.

It can take up to 30 seconds for your new favicon to appear on your store. Your browser may also keep showing the old one for a while, so try refreshing the page or opening your store in a private window.

**Supported File Formats**

* .ico
* .png
* .jpg

The file must be no larger than 250KB.

**Image Dimensions**

For the best results, upload a square image that is no larger than 256px in height and width.

### Older designs

If your store uses one of our older designs, you can also change your favicon from inside the Theme Editor:

1. Go to **Design > Theme Editor**.
2. Above the preview of your store you'll see your store address. Click the small image to the left of it.
3. Click **Add New Favicon Image**.
4. Upload a new image, or select one from your Image Gallery.
5. Click **Save**.
