# Connecting a Domain Name

At Freewebstore, we offer all of our users a chance to register a custom domain name through our registrar, minimizing the stress of having to source and connect your custom domain yourself. If you upgrade to any of our Premium plans, we throw in the initial registration of a custom domain of your choosing, for **free!**

Obtaining a custom domain name is the single most important thing to do for your online store. So what are you waiting for?

To connect, transfer or purchase a domain:

1. Log in to your control panel.
2. Head over to the **Marketing > Domain Names** section.
3. Click the **Connect Domain Name** button at the top of the page

4. You will then see a search bar to enter your domain name. This will start the connection process or you can search for available domain names.

If you are transferring or connecting an existing domain, you will be guided through a wizard to connect the domain in a way that suits you.

If you are simply looking for a domain to buy and attach to your store, you will be greeted with a list of available domains for you to purchase. If you are on our **Startup Plan** or higher, there will be some domains that you can claim for free for the first year, or on our **Pro Plan,** free for as long as you remain on the Pro plan.
