# Bing Site Verification

### How to Verify your Store for Bing

To verify your store for Bing:

1. Log into your Freewebstore Control Panel.
2. Go to **Marketing** > **Site Verification**.
3. Expand the **Bing** tab.
4. If you do not already have a verification code, you can retrieve your code from the **Bing Webmaster Center**, or by following the [**Bing Webmaster Center**](https://www.bing.com/toolbox/webmaster/) link.
5. Once you have your code, enter the ***content*** part of the verification code that Bing has provided you with.
6. Click **Save**.
7. Return to your Bing Webmaster Tools browser tab. Click **Verify**. If you receive a "Bing could not verify ownership of this site" message, you may need to wait a few hours and try again.

### How do I obtain the site verification code for Bing?

To obtain the code needed for your control panel:

1. Log in to Bing with your Microsoft account.
2. Under **My Sites,** enter your site's URL and click **Add.**
3. On the **Verify ownership** page, under **Option 2**, copy the verification code in between **content="xxxxxx"**.

You will now have the code needed to enter in the relevant field in the site verification section of your control panel.
